A£ 50 deposit is required to hold/schedule your time slot, and that amount will be applied to your final session fee.

  • 5×7 inches tinype – £85 (Ambrotypes: £ 90) 
  • 2nd plate £ 75, (Ambrotype £ 80)
  • 3rd plate £ 70 (Ambrotype £ 75)
  • Aditional plates: £ 65 (Ambrotype £ 70)
Creating a tintype is a little adventure! Our session will last about 1 hour, giving us time to chat, get comfortable, and dive into the magic of this historic art form. Bring your curiosity—I’m always happy to answer questions, and my goal is to make your experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.
 
If standing in front of a camera feels intimidating, don’t worry! I’ll guide you every step of the way, so you can simply enjoy the process. Watching your image appear—almost like alchemy—in the final stage is a moment of pure wonder.
 
Later, I’ll carefully varnish your plate and let it cure, ensuring it lasts for generations. I’ll send you a scan for sharing online, and your original tintype will be in your hands within a week or less.
Each tintype is a one-of-a-kind creation, made one plate at a time—typically 15–20 minutes per plate. In a 60-minute session, we can usually create 2 to 3 unique plates for you to choose from. The moment the flash shoots, your portrait is captured forever—no retouching, no digital tricks, just a true piece of living history.

Travelling to You:


Enjoy the convenience of professional wet-plate photography at your location. My fully-equipped portable studio and darkroom come to you—perfect for capturing stunning images in the comfort of your own space.

I offer complimentary travel to Caerleon, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Newbridge, Newport, St. Mellons, Ystrad Mynach, and Caerphilly with a minimum order of just 3 Tintypes and/or  Androtypes.

RESCHEDULING, REFUNDS and CANCELLATIONS:

A £ 50 deposit is required when booking your appointment. This deposit secures your session and will be applied to your total cost. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund.
 
Because tintype sessions require significant preparation and materials, refunds cannot be issued if you miss your appointment or cancel without at least 48 hours’ notice. I kindly ask for advance notice so we can reschedule without issue.
 
Please note: Rescheduling or cancelling within 48 hours is treated the same as a last-minute cancellation, as it prevents others from booking that slot. If you need to reschedule, a new deposit will be required. Thank you for understanding.
